Designed From A Blank Canvas
Many accommodations available in Roatan result from someone adding extension after extension onto an original island-style home. After-the-fact expansion often results in a perplexing floor-plan and challenging logistical usage of the property. We have experienced first-hand showers bigger than the bedroom, kitchens with no running water, air conditioning in one room only, a kitchen built into a closet, and more.
We purchased this property intending to create a small lodging accommodation with just a couple of casitas & our final home to provide us with a social hobby as we move into the retirement phase of our lives.
About Our Property
After deciding on the island of Roatan, we spent three years looking for the right property before purchasing this location. We wanted to be very close to West End, but we were adamant that we could find a way to reduce all the noise and congestion that comes along with that crazy amount of activity, especially during the evening hours. Finally, we believe we found the perfect location.

About Our Casitas
We intended to build casitas that we would be willing to live in ourselves for an extended period and find very comfortable/practical to use while building our home. So we hand-picked the best features from the various places we’d stayed in over the years and ensured we could eliminate the unappealing characteristics.

The comfy kayaks and water toys they provide are amazing. The beach is cleaned and raked every second day by a wonderful island man who even took us out snorkelling and showed us the best sites. Our place is cleaned and bedding changed weekly. King bed is very comfy.
Hummingbird watching is to die for on our deck. Haven’t used the brand new pool but we just prefer the beach. Can’t say enough about our wonderful hosts Bruce and Louise. They will bend over backwards to help you out with anything.
If you like a vacay away from the rat race but walking distance to a couple of great bar and grill places, this is the place for you. Oh and the tv is awesome…65” and can get pretty well any channel (including Canadian) plus VOD and Netflix. We have 3 more weeks in this lovely place.
Would recommend it highly to any couple wanting to spend some quiet time together in a beautiful setting. Honeymooners perhaps???

Our accommodations were nothing short of fantastic. The casita I stayed in was not only immaculately clean but also beautifully decorated with a rustic charm that perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the casita, from the comfortable bed to the well-equipped kitchen. I had all the comforts of home while being surrounded by the beauty of nature.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breathtaking views from the private porch of my casita. Watching the sunrise and sunset from that vantage point was a mesmerizing experience, and I spent hours just gazing at the turquoise Caribbean Sea.

Hummingbird Casitas is a vision of paradise. Whether you're lounging under the sun, taking a leisurely stroll, kayaking, or snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, the beach is the perfect backdrop for relaxation and adventure.
The ocean offers a treasure trove of underwater wonders. The world-class coral reef right offshore is a snorkeler's and a diver's dream come true. We had the privilege of exploring the vibrant marine life beneath the surface and the kaleidoscope of colors.
We can't overlook the incredible sunsets. As the day draws to a close, the skies explode with hues of orange and pink, casting a magical spell over the island. Watching the sun dip below the horizon while sipping on a tropical cocktail is a moment of pure tropical bliss.
The kitchen was equipped with everything we could need and more. The accommodation was several steps above my expectations. A lot of careful thought and planning went into the design, and Loise & Bruce were incredibly helpful.
This place is our vision of the perfect Caribbean vacation.

We enjoyed snorkeling on the reef which is directly in front of you, kayaking and strolls on the beach. The sunsets are beautiful to watch on nearby docks!
There are restaurants within walking distance and navigating to and from west end and west bay was a breeze. It was a perfect location to be close enough to town but far enough away for peaceful relaxation. I highly recommend their incredible accommodations.

The owners, Bruce and Louise are amazing people and amazing hosts. They are so helpful and you can tell they really want your stay to be relaxing and comfortable.
They thought of everything when they designed this place - comfortable bed, porch with a swing and comfortable chairs, life jackets, snorkel gear, swimming pool and deck, fire pit. The snorkeling right from the beach is wonderful. You can almost walk clear to the reef. Five stars is not enough!

We LOVED snorkeling off the beach. We saw an octopus, moray eel, rays, parrot fish, a turtle, and more.

I saw more sea life in the first twenty minutes offshore here than I did during the two weeks we spent in Belize. Go out in the ocean, directly off your beach. Seeing can be great even in stormy weather. Pick a spot and stay there. Everything will come to you. Then move about 30 feet and start over, a different show about every 30 to 40 feet.
Trust your hosts. They know all the tricks to making the most of your stay.
We were among the first guests and the pool became operational the day after we left. But even without the pool, we had plenty of toys to play with and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Their TV system was so good, I found out their content provider and ordered it for my home in the US. Great Place, Spectacular People, Fantastic Time.

Morning coffee on the porch, staring out at the ocean, is the perfect way to ease into your day.
Their beach guy keeps the place immaculate and surprisingly bug-free. Although we had a full kitchen, we enjoyed walking down the beach to grab a bite and drink and meeting lots of friendly people.
Their beach guy is also a dive master. He took us snorkeling off the shoreline, where we saw starfish, an octopus, some baby conch, and countless types of fish.
My only complaint is that we were only there for a week. Next time it will be there longer.

There are three dive shops within walking distance. We tried all three and had a great time with each.

The COVID-19 disaster closed the island of Roatan, delaying our project by more than a year. The positive consequence is that we had twelve more months to rethink and rework our casita floor plan. Hopefully, you will feel that we finally got it about perfect!
The two Casitas are almost identical, with the only noticeable difference being that the 2nd Floor Casita has a vaulted ceiling.
For Scuba Divers
If you’re visiting Roatan for Scuba Diving, you’ll find that we are in a great location on the island. Three dive shops are located within walking distance from us, the closest being just down the beach.
These neighborhood shops offer more of a boutique experience, meaning smaller groups and much more personalized interaction. However, if you’re looking for a more extensive group experience with overcrowded boats and lots of people (like all the cruise ships typically use), there are four shops within a mile of us. In addition, more than a dozen dive shops are nearby, offering just about any dive experience you can imagine.
The variety of dive sites in the local area is unmatched anywhere else on the island. Many of the dive shops on the island bring their guests for a long boat ride into this area to experience our local dive sites.
We offer our guests a complimentary, secure place to rinse, hang up and store their equipment, and we will also provide transportation to any West End or Sandy Bay dive shop location once per day.
