About Roatan
The Caribbean's Best-Kept Secret Is Out

Roatan is (the largest of the Bay Islands) about 160 miles southwest of Belize and 40 miles north of Honduras. Surrounded by the blue/green (turquoise) 80-degree waters of the Caribbean Sea. The island is about 40 miles long and, at its maximum point, about 5 miles wide.
Roatan is home to about 80,000 people, with a considerable influx of ex-pats from Canada and the USA. Canadians outnumber Americans by about 60% to 40%, and although the official language is Spanish, English is almost as standard, especially in tourist areas.
If you’re into Scuba Diving, you’ve likely heard of Roatan. However, if you Google the best scuba diving (snorkeling) destinations in the world, you’ll find Roatan on almost every list you find. This is because Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest barrier reef in the world and the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere, surrounds the island.
If you’re not into exploring the treasures found below the water, how about white sand beaches, breathtaking sunset cruises, or world-class fishing? Roatan attracts about two million cruise ship visitors, divers, and vacationers annually.
Roatan has three of the busiest cruise ship ports in the western Caribbean and an international airport that offers non-stop service to the USA, Canada, Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, & more.

Our Favorite Ways To Spend Time On Roatan
Scuba Diving
Over a dozen RMP-recognized dive sites are within 1500 feet of our property and hundreds on the island. We're within walking distance of three dive shops, dozens within a few miles, and diving costs are the cheapest in the Caribbean.
Snorkeling
You will find excellent snorkeling right off our beach. The water is warm year-round, the imagery is outstanding, and we provide complimentary snorkel equipment with your stay—no more excuses. Jump in! Your next step will be a Scuba Diving certification.
Sportfishing
Roatan is unique because the reef around our island is only a few hundred yards offshore. Once cleared, you’re in profoundly deep water. No long boat rides to get to the right fishing spot so you can bring home dinner for 50 of your new best friends.
Charter A Boat
Tour the islands by boat—plenty of options, including power and sail. Then, visit one of the hundreds of isolated, pristine, almost deserted islands, cays, and beaches comprising the Bay Islands archipelago—day trips to Cayos Cochinos, Pigeon Key, and more..
Sunset Cruise
The sunsets are like no other place on earth, and there is no better way to end your day than with a sunset cruise. So raise your glass of champagne and toast to your newly found, best place on the planet, where you should spend all your leisure time enjoying life.
Extended Beach Walk
If you are into long beach walks, you’ll love that our property directly connects to Sandy Bay beach, where you can continue your beach walk till you drop. In addition, there’s a great place to stop for a snack in Lawson’s Rock, about 2.5 miles down the beach.
Golf
World-famous golf course architect Pete Dye created the Black Pearl, an 18-hole, par-72, 7200-yard course. The course starts at the ocean’s doorstep, rises into the island’s rolling foothills, then takes golfers on a wild ride back to the seaside clubhouse.
ATV Buggy Island Tour
Why view our unique island trapped inside a stuffy car? Instead, enjoy the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin, and inhale in our clean, ocean-scented air while experiencing some of our island’s best attractions.
Horseback Riding
Your adventure starts at the horse farm. Then, you will travel from the sea into the jungle and up the hilltop for a 360-degree view of the Island. This is the best way to experience the Island of Roatan if you love horses.
Paddle Board
Paddle Boarding is an excellent form of exercise and provides enormous health benefits. The reef around Roatan calms the waves, making our ocean water perfect for Paddle Board use. You can rent boards by the hour and even hire an instructor.
Water Ski, Wakeboard & Tubing
Water skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing are all water sports activities typically not associated with an island in the Caribbean. Our barrier reef provides perfect protection from the fierce ocean waves and enables all these activities.
Spa
You can enjoy a top-quality massage right on the beach by merely strolling a few minutes down from our property. Several facilities on the island offer yoga classes, wellness activities, and even chiropractic care.
Swim With The Dolphins
We are walking distance down the beach from the world-famous Anthony’s Key. Here you can immerse yourself in the world of our local marine life with their dolphin encounter and educational programs.
Zip line
If you are into zip-lining, we have several options. One line is 320 feet high, 2580 feet long, and allows you to fly like a bird at 70 mph while letting the adrenaline run through your body. But don’t panic; there are also more mild lines for newbies.
Tourist Attractions
Roatan has the usual tourist attractions, but we also have more unique experiences such as the Sloth Habitat, Chocolate Factory, Arboretums, Botanical Gardens, and various times throughout the year, festivals, and events that are great fun to experience.
Nightclubbing
Looking to grab a drink and watch the sunset, you’ll find a bunch within walking distance just down the beach. Looking for a nightclub to rock the house into the early morning hours, we have those as well. Heck, you are on vacation; enjoy the night & sleep in!
Dining
From elegant, 5-star dining to casual bites in flip-flops and shorts, Roatan has it all. Food is less expensive here than in other vacation destinations, and there are likely more great places to eat than you have vacation days left to try them all.
Doing NOTHING!
Some days the best way to spend your time is just doing nothing. Clear your brain, re-kindle the flame, and enjoy the vibe of the island. So I suggest you grab an island favorite, a frozen Monkey LaLa, (or twelve), and consider it time to relax!
